Christmas calendar sleeve with coded illustration
The Gottlieber Christmas calendars are annually made in Swiss workshops for the festive season. For the dark edition, I wanted to arrange stars irregularly around a central ornament, more densely in the centre and more scattered towards the outside.
Each star should have between 5 and 11 points, be of different size and have a slightly altered rotation. Drawing an illustration with a good 1000 such stars by hand would be enormously time-consuming. Thanks to Processing, a programme for generative design, this can be done with relatively few lines of code (check out my Github page).
The finished sleeve is enhanced with Christmas elements and embellished with gold foil.
