Paineducation

Training material for pain therapy

Paineducation is a central component of pain therapy. For Alice Prchal, Senior Psychologist at the University Children's Hospital Zurich, I designed a series of panels that are used in the interprofessional pain consultation with children and young adults.

Panel 3: Many factors influence pain

It was important to us that the panels form a series, despite the diverse content and that the complex content is broken down into clear, understandable metaphors.

Panel 4: The Pain Gate

I used an easily recognizable symbol for "pain", and completely avoided anatomical illustrations. For the color concept I oriented myself on the pain research.

Panel 5: The pain system can become oversensitive

The posters have been very well received by the children and young adults, which is why we have produced a leaflet that patients can take home with them.
