Paineducation

Training material for pain therapy

Paineducation is a central component of pain therapy. For Alice Prchal, Senior Psychologist at the University Children's Hospital Zurich, I designed a series of panels that are used in the interprofessional pain consultation with children and young adults and in a non-fiction book about psychosomatic pain.

Panel 3: Many factors influence pain

It was important to us that the panels form a series, despite the diverse content.

Panel 2: Pain originates in the brain

I used an easily recognizable symbol for "pain", and completely avoided anatomical illustrations.

Panel 4: The Gate of Pain

I oriented myself on the pain research for the color concept.

Panel 5: The pain system can become oversensitive

The complex content is broken down into clear, understandable metaphors.

Panel 6: BioPsychoSocial Treatment Plan
